About Kristine Laco
After three years of mastering depression and anxiety, Kristine Laco decided to see how the world looked beyond medication. She undertook a bucket list project for a year that challenged her, attempted to break her, but ultimately put her back together. She has completed her first memoir about her recovery journey.
Since that first THE END, Kristine graduated from The University of Toronto Creative Writing Certificate Programme and her humor has appeared in Slackjaw, Belladonna Comedy, Greener Pastures and more.
Her second THE END began as a National Novel Writing Month challenge and has been on her revision desk for two years. The Potato Salad Potluck is contemporary women’s fiction based in her Toronto suburb that serves as her muse.
Both projects are seeking representation and it’s a race to see which will become her debut.

What I Care About
I write many things: memoir, women's fiction, essays, and satire are my favorites. Themes in my words center around motherhood, resilience, middle age, and the female experience. My newsletter comes out 8 times a year and features information on my path to publication—so that should keep me going for years. My blog is emailed from Substack every second Tuesday and is sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful. It's called Funny & Thinky. Both are free and both are me.
